From 2-10 May, 2022, Michelle Limenta, Director of Universitas Pelita Harapan Center for International Trade & Investment (UPH-CITI), was asked to speak for an online course on “Sustainable Development Provisions in Free Trade Agreements” hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). This course is aimed at enhancing the design of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) so that they more effectively support sustainable development, enabling international trade to generate not only economic gains but also social and environmental benefits. The course featured a panel of distinguished speakers: Michelle Limenta (Director of UPH-CITI) Paul Baker (Chief Executive of International Economics Consulting), Marva Corley-Coulibaly (Chief, Globalization, Competitiveness and Labor Standards Unit, ILO), Matthias Helble (Health and Trade Economist), Anoush der Boghossian (Economic Affairs Office at WTO), Deborah Elms (Executive Director of the Asian Trade Center), Katrin Kuhlmann (President and Founder of New Markets Lab), Rupa Chanda (Director, Trade, Investment, and Innovation Division at UNESCAP), and Yunn Duval (Chief, Trade Policy, and Facilitation Section at UNESCAP).
