On November 21, 2024, the Thinking Ahead on Societal Change (TASC) Platform and the World Economic Forum co-organized the workshop “Critical Minerals in Indonesia: Pathways to Inclusive Trade and Decent Jobs,” hosted by the Center for International Trade and Investment at Universitas Pelita Harapan. The workshop aimed to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by Indonesia’s wealth of critical raw materials, particularly for the labor market, and to identify and test recommendations for government actions, business practices, and civil society initiatives to improve labor outcomes in the sector. The event featured a range of speakers, including Mr. Tubagus Nugraha, Deputy Assistant for Mining Affairs at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia.
